I was there, and I thought they were sweet. But, since my usual standing posture dictates I cross my arms and slant my stance, and I'm outfitted in tight jeans and "scenester" look, one might think I disapproved. Much to the contrary, they were good, I'm just a jackass. |

______________________________________ [Feb 23,2007 8:29pm - the_reverend ""] yeah you are. face full of shotgun: I was surprised that they were on the bill. since they are not only heavy, but also technical, ths place's shape is the worse for them. The high ceiling just muddled out the techy parts and all the blast beats over lapped. still, it was cool to see them. But they sounded better in ralphs. war on our shores: awesome seeing the dudes from THH together again. The bands not bad either. Nate's vocie boomed pretty loud in that place. I kept blowing out his skin in the shots too. The lights from the stage blinded the crap out of me. When they said turn all the house lights out, I knew their set was going to be trouble. human abstract, the: not quite as good as the last time I saw them, but pretty close. The level of playing skillz is push to the front of every part of their songs. Not many people dancing or anything, but a lot of people standing there being wicked impressed. misery signals: the new guy was different and all, but sang most of the full length perfectly. People were piling up in the front of the stage during most of their songs. I started the show in the front, right there in the mix of things, but slid to the side of the stage when the stage divers started. I looked to my side and saw matt (ex-byd) pop up on the top of the crowd. I also think that he jumped off the top of the PA too. |
_____________________________________ [Feb 23,2007 8:37pm - Sacreligion ""] more big shows need to go through that place...it's built perfectly for it(besides the ceilings which don't facilitate good sound) i suppose they could hang sound-proofing or something but that might detract from the unique vibe it has |
______________________________ [Feb 24,2007 12:51pm - mOe ""] i think with a decent enough PA that place can sound good...case in point that night...i heard that was the sound guy from the palladium upstairs |
