Bands that fell apart[views:14505][posts:131]________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 10:54am - aril ""] With the new Metallica on the verge of being releasedica, list some (metal) bands that completely fell apart and should have broke up years ago. Here's a few: In Flames - Anders should have died after Whoracle Satyricon - Not a huge fan of stuff after Rebel. seems like they barely try anymore Trivium - this band shouldn't have existed in the first place. Metallica - GIVE IT THE FUCK UP and... |
________________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 10:57am - neverpurified ""] Soilwork - anything after Natural Born Chaos = Decapitated - fuckin' drummer had to be an asshole and quit.......ruined the whole band |

________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 10:58am - aril ""] haha. decades of crap pretty sums Aerosmith up. their early stuff isn't too bad. |

____________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 12:24pm - dreadkill ""] i love their proggy stuff. some bands tend to get better later in their careers. i prefer the more rockin newer sentenced stuff to the older death metal stuff. the death metal stuff wasn't bad, but there was nothing special about it. |

___________________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 1:22pm - Mikeofdecrepitude ""] Whoremastery said:slayer~anything after D.I. sepultura~anything after choas ad Fear factory~anything after demanufacture I thought Obsolete was a good continuation of the Demanfacture sound, with better keyboard integration. Edgecrusher has a Pantera groove and some scratching in it, but they've always experimented with different sound effects and were even doing remix songs as far back as the Soul of a new Machine era. Digimortal was a complete letdown, Archetype was a solid comeback, and Transgression, according to the band, was rushed by the label and they weren't satisfied with the mix or guitar tone. Apparently they weren't given enough time to write more songs; hence two covers. That's their story anyway. |
______________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 1:25pm - Whoremastery ""] i hear that..if you take soul of a new machine and obsolete..its alomost(to me anyway) two different bands.. when i first heard ff. soul of a new machine back in the day i was blown away so its just my favorite and i feel they left that sound really quick. |
_______________________________ [Aug 26,2008 1:25pm - aril ""] I have to agree with Mike - Obsolete is a good continuation of Demanufacture, with a little bit more experimentation. Not every song on it is great, but there are some okay ones. Haven't heard much stuff after Obsolete though, only because I heard some tracks off of Digimortal and I thought it sounded like Nu Metal crap. |
___________________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 1:30pm - Mikeofdecrepitude ""] aril said:I remember when clayman came out, everyone called it Gayman Aside from a couple of tracks, I initially thought Clayman was a major letdown. For some reason I always felt that one day I would just "get it", and eventually it happened. In Flames used to be one of my favorite bands growing up and I still enjoy the old sound the most, but oddly enough, I now listen to Clayman the most. I think it's partially due to the fact that I know I'll never see them live again, nor will they ever return to their glory days, so I can accept Clayman for what it is. It's a great metal album with pop sensibilities. |
_______________________________ [Aug 26,2008 1:32pm - aril ""] my favorite IF is Lunar Strain and/or Subterranean by far. |

___________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 2:00pm - dreadkill ""] i think in flames lost it after whoracle, although i do like a few songs of colony and clayman. lunar strain, subterranean, and jester race are their best. i liked obsolete. it was the last fear factory album i liked. with soilwork, i actually liked figure number five. my favorite is a predator's portrait. stabbing the drama and the new one really suck. sabbath with dio is really fucking good. i still like most of the ozzy sabbath better, but the dio years were awesome. Aerosmith was awesome in the 70s, decent from the late 80s to early 90s (i like the get a grip album), and terrible after that. they were my favorite band when i was a kid. |

CRYPTOPSY! yeah, i was trying not to think about this. We (boarcorpse) had a 16 year old kid come down to audition singing for us, and he was playing us the bands he likes, dont really remember all the names, but something sounded kinda like older cryptopsy and so i asked if hed heard it... he made a comment about not listening to mallcore. It hurt because i knew he was right (at least now) so i played him "And then you'll Beg" and he was blown away. He said "What happened?!" and we all died a little death. R.I.P. Cryptopsy - I am finally ready to put you to rest old friend. Shoulda done this before what was not... BANG BANG *puts bullet in old friends head* |

_____________________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 3:03pm - MarkFuckingRichards ""] I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks Black Sabbath only existed with Ozzy. I'm not saying Dio sucks (even though I can't stand him, I know he's a good vocalist), but you cannot expect Black Sabbath to BE Black Sabbath with anyone but Ozzy. They just changed their sound completely; even if Ozzy was on the later stuff, it would not be Black Sabbath. If they just changed the name like they recently kind of did, I wouldn't be so pissy about this. They're my favorite band of all time, so I feel the need to be a bitch, haha. |
_______________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 3:23pm - dr. sphincto ""] black sabbath after ozzy skinny puppy-their last 2 albums suck they shouldn't have reformed deicide-after once upon the cross Lacuna Coil-with Comalies |
_____________________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 3:24pm - MarkFuckingRichards ""] Oooh, Crisis. They had some lame attempt at a comeback album that sounded worse than nu-metal. ____________________________________ [Aug 26,2008 3:27pm - porphyria ""] dio sabbath > ozzy sabbath imo, the songs that were written with dio were better. I can't stand anything that was written with ozzy's annoying-ass vocals. |
