______________________________ [Jun 21,2011 2:22pm - ark ""] I only got halfway through the 2nd book in WoT, I stopped a while ago, I just wanted to read something else. I might jump back in and see if it still holds my interest. |
_______________________________________ [Jun 21,2011 2:24pm - AndrewBastard ""] its good up until Winters Heart IMO...starts losing steam after Lord of Chaos though. |

__________________________________ [Aug 1,2011 2:22pm - arktouros ""] The best thing about the HBO series is you can pick up the second book, and know EXACTLY what's going on. |
________________________________ [Aug 1,2011 2:26pm - Doomkid ""] Housed the first half of GoT yesterday... I'm glad I started this when there's 3 more books waiting. Does anyone else feel like there's almost a Redwall-like level of food description in Martin's writing? (if anyone knows what I mean that is) |

_________________________________________ [Jul 5,2012 3:27pm - largefreakatzero ""] I finished the first book over the weekend, and am well into book #2. Great read, don't want to put down. Reading on Kindle which makes it possible to read while drunk -- increased font size FTW. |
____________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 7:05am - arilliusbm ""] Just finished season 1. Love it. It's definitely my favorite soap opera after One Life to Live. |
__________________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 8:03am - largefreakatzero ""] Show is ok. Books 1 to 3 were great, book 4 kinda went off the rails, and from the reviews book 5 sounds even worse. Probably won't bother. |

_______________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 8:35am - AndrewBastard ""] yeah, a Dance With Dragons was a fucking bore, IMO...it takes place at the same time as a Feast for Crows (book 4) which I liked more than DwD... all fantasy series that I initially love end up going on for too long. Its a shame. Gookind Jordan Martin Eddings 5 books is the max IMO. 3 is preferred. |
____________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 8:45am - arilliusbm ""] What was up with that awkward fat guy with the dangling penis in episode 9? |
__________________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 9:10am - largefreakatzero ""] AndrewBastard said:yeah, a Dance With Dragons was a fucking bore, IMO...it takes place at the same time as a Feast for Crows (book 4) which I liked more than DwD... all fantasy series that I initially love end up going on for too long. Its a shame. Gookind Jordan Martin Eddings 5 books is the max IMO. 3 is preferred. Yeah, Feast for Crows wasn't terrible, but it started to turn into a clusterfuck with too many characters, and he started to cheap out on the character development. Also, I found it arrogant and annoying that the author addressed the reader directly at the end -- fuck off, don't talk to me, write. From all the reviews I read, DWD (Book 5) was even worse from that aspect (discombobulated) -- from those reviews and your review, I'm definitely going to spend my time reading something else. It's too bad, because the first 3 books really were excellent. |

He's just a simpleton that the Starks had in their care that they ended up using to assist Brandon after his fall... |
_______________________________________ [Sep 18,2012 9:12am - AndrewBastard ""] DwD gets cool towards the end and some pretty major shit happens...but the first 1/2-3/4 of the book just seems to drag with no major events taking place and too many chapters on random characters you dont really give a shit about. |
