MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL SPAWNS ITS THIRD TOUR[views:44861][posts:51]the Palladium (Worcester, Ma) - [arch_enemy][bleeding_through][cradle_of_filth][himsa][randomshots] [show listing] __________________________________ [Sep 29,2004 1:47pm - succubus ""] CRADLE OF FILTH, ARCH ENEMY, BLEEDING THROUGH and HIMSA HIT THE ROAD IN NOVEMBER 2004 SPECIAL TOUR EDITION OF “HEADBANGERS BALL” TO AIR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH AT 10PM ET/7PM PT ON MTV2 New York, NY: Following the overwhelming fan response for first two sold-out Headbangers Ball Tours, MTV2 is proud to announce the lineup of the third HEADBANGERS BALL tour. CRADLE OF FILTH will headline the run, with ARCH ENEMY and BLEEDING THROUGH as special guests, and HIMSA kicking off the evening. The tour kicks off on 11/4 in Sayreville, NJ and follows the 9/28 release of the ultimate 2-CD metal compilation HEADBANGERS BALL VOL. 2 on Roadrunner Records. Hosted by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, MTV2's HEADBANGERS BALL can be seen every Saturday night at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. On Saturday, November 6th, MTV2 will air a special tour edition of Headbangers Ball featuring appearances by all the bands on this fall’s trek. Smarter, more ambitious and more fiendishly creative than any of their Norse contemporaries, tour headliners CRADLE OF FILTH emerged in 1991 from the shadows with a fully-formed and multi-faceted sound; a cunning amalgam of venomous black metal, high gothic drama and pure British steel. The subsequent decade brought untold success and a further consolidation of the band’s inestimable sonic prowess. CRADLE OF FILTH have recently delivered the album of their career – NYMPHETAMINE (due out 9/28). Dubbed by British press as the greatest Black Metal band ever and Britain's greatest overall Metal export since Iron Maiden and embraced stateside with a slew of upcoming magazine features and covers that will run throughout the next few months, the shadow that Dani Filth & Co. cast over the landscape of all things heavy will only grow longer and darker. Swedish extreme metal titans and tour special guests, ARCH ENEMY, have been called “One of the top 25 most important bands in metal,” by Alternative Press and “Sweden’s death metal messiahs,” by Guitar World. The group’s critically acclaimed album, Anthems of Rebellion, was hailed as a melodic death metal masterpiece and helped them land high profile U.S. tours with the legendary Iron Maiden and Slayer. ARCH ENEMY just shot a new video for the track “Dead Eyes See No Future” and are more than ready to make their triumphant return to the U.S. this fall. Incorporating Euro style metallic riffage, speedy hardcore foundations, ethereal keyboards and throat-ripping to melodic vocals, special guests BLEEDING THROUGH have drawn fans across the musical spectrum. The group was named as one of eight bands ushering in the “Future of Metal” by Revolver Magazine, the “Next Big Thing” by Spin Magazine (Feb) and “Band You Need To Know” Alternative Press (Jan). This U.S. tour will be the latest sweep in a non-stop year of playing, including Ozzfest, since the release of their acclaimed album “This Is Love…This Is Murderous” for Trustkill Records. Assembling the finer qualities of bands like Slayer, Iron Maiden, and In Flames, while adding a shot of hardcore undertones, punk rock culture and gothic rock aesthetics, HIMSA's music is as violent and dark as their name suggests. The complexity and aggression of their latest offering, Courting Tragedy And Disaster, could not be more perfectly suited for today’s rock world - a sentiment echoed by Metal Hammer and Revolver placing the band on both their “Bands To Watch” lists. The only thing that could have saved this concert would be the old AE vocalist bursting out of Angela's vagina, running backstage and murdering CoF with his ugly mutant powers. _____________________________________ [Nov 7,2004 3:18am - the_reverend ""] himsa: they played a pretty good set. the seemed a little bit lost since getting to the crowd was a little dificult with the INSANE ammount of room. bleeding through: awesome and high energy. the singer from himsa came out during rise and sang. the singer teased the audience getting really close until the last song where he went into the crowd. arch enemy: the set was short-ish and to the point. a lot of riffs and head banging. I always forget about burning angel and how awesome the guitar riffs are in that song. cradle of filth: yeah! they only played like 2 or 3 new songs. the rest were all good old songs. I will admit to singing along a lot. I think dani's choice in shirts leaves much to be desired. |

I especially like some of those Bleeding Through ones. Now you would know better then me, but I'd say this is one of the better sets of pictures you've collectively taken at one show recently. And they finally had it set up the way I like it, haha! I hope they keep it like that instead of lining the floor with speakers... Oh well. |

__________________________________________________ [Nov 7,2004 7:45pm - Ryan (Mojo Music Studio) ""] I was at that show last night, it was pretty good, Cradle sounded way to quiet thought. Dani told me and a couple friends after the show that he had laryngitis though, so that may have been the reason. |
_________________________________________ [Nov 7,2004 11:10pm - BobNOMAAMRooney ""] Has anyone read the interview with Dani from the December Metal Maniacs? There's one question that's something like, "Oh wow, it's pretty cool that people are into CoF. I saw like 3 people today with CoF shirts on!" And Dani instantly goes on the defensive against charges of "selling out" What a douchebag. |
____________________________________ [Nov 7,2004 11:10pm - anonymous ""] marta kind of resembles davey havok, no? |
______________________________________________ [Nov 9,2004 12:45am - i got marta's tape ;P ""] no she doesnt, at all. the guy from himsa bought my little brother a hotdog. and before the show marta gave me a piece of tape that will rest in my wallet forever more. bleeding through did the best, arch enemy played to any boring songs, i dont like cradle, and that was my first time actually listening to himsa. but i met the singer from himsa, and brandan and marta from bleeding through so i was stoked. i think a couple of guys groped me during arch enemy. yeah i'm a guy, and not to mention an ugly guy, so i don't know why that happened. |

_____________________________________ [Nov 9,2004 4:15pm - Jay = Death ""] That concert kicked sooo much ass. The sound wasn't perfect, but who cares. I was front and center during BT and Arch Enemy. I had to be up front while watching both beautys in both bands. I was right next to the singer of BT when he came out to the crowd. SIC ASSED SHOW!! I hope to see Arch Enemy come back through soon, because in my opinion, they were the best band there. I missed Himsa by like 2 minutes. and the pits were pretty cool during Cradle, but sometimes not enough action. Still..... awesome show. |

Normally I'd think this was an ok set, but 1) as I said before, the sound was horrible, 2) I was expecting 1 or 2 songs out of the ones they'd been randomly throwing into some of the previous dates of the tour (Children Of Bodom, Towards Dead End, Trashed Lost And Strungout, among others) that we didn't get, and 3) Throwdown didn't show up so Bodom were told they could play longer, but instead they spent about 40 minutes doing their sound, which makes 1 and 2 piss me off even more. |
