I liked him, but if they can upgrade, by all means do so. Mike, I agree, this is a trip because both guys excelled in one particular system. It makes me wonder if you're going to see Bill switch out players and change up looks a lot more during games then we have seen him do in a while. Ellis is gonna get playing time judging by the $4 million he's getting this season. |
_______________________________ [Aug 8,2011 1:17pm - xmikex ""] I was just about to post the Leshoure thing as a sad told-you-so to folks that wanted to draft him. As much as I thought he sucked I hate seeing things like that happen. I just commented on the PFT story that the Lions should consider Maroney. It might set the record for thumbs downs, but you could do a lot worse at the position than a former first rounder who is productive when he's healthy and hanging onto the ball. |

The O-Line is set. Connell made some great strides last year, so him sliding in with Mankins is an upgrade. |

________________________________ [Aug 30,2011 2:10am - xmikex ""] The thing that might just piss me off the most about this offseason is that if Belichick wanted to move to a 4-3 why didn't he draft for it? Malcolm Williams, a guy that no one ANYWHERE thought stood a realistic chance of making this or any NFL roster was cut today. Lee Smith, the supposed blocking superstar of Marshall is primed to get the axe soon after getting outshined by an UDFA. Chris Carer was on the board when Smith was taken. Mistral Raymond was on the board (if we're so concerned about our safety depth that we have to go cut James Sanders for no reason). Greg Jones, 4-3 ILB tackling machine from Michigan State was on the board. Greg Lloyd Jr. was on the board. Jeremy Beal was on the board. How was Markell Carter the only 4-3 front 7 player they thought was worth a roster shot? |

He's only a 2nd round draft pick. With everything that's happened so far this season, Cunningham may be the most disturbing development of all. When you consider this team has struggled on defense all season, especially in the pass rush, you would think a 2nd round pick who was drafted at least in part to help the pass rush in his 2nd year would be able to get on the field and contribute considering he showed progress in his rookie year. I don't know what it is with him, but he can't crack a roster full of aging DEs who only produce in spurts (read: Carter, Anderson), if at all (read: Ellis, what a fucking bum). Deaderick is the only one who isn't up there in age and needs time to get into game shape. Cunningham SHOULD be able to provide SOME sort of contribution. I can't have faith that he can turn it around. |
_________________________________________ [Nov 8,2011 7:34pm - MillenialKingdom ""] Would have made more sense to cut Ocho. What the fuck has he done all season? |
________________________________ [Nov 10,2011 3:46pm - xmikex ""] Read this and lost my goddamn mind: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...nesworth-i-just-wanted-to-play-more The defense last year was jelling through the mid-late season. I hate the fact that we blew it up and started a new system with late-career veterans. The starting D-Line right now should be Carter, Wilfork, Deaderick, Cunningham. I don't know whats up with Cunningham and I don't care. Just give the kid a chance already. |

He was up and down with injuries for the portion of the year he was active. But every time he took the field he got absolutely destroyed. |
