I was wondering about what kind of music everyone is into, specifically non-metal artits. Here's some of the stuff i'm into:

Pink Floyd (Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma era)
Frank Zappa
Timothy Leary
Ween
Revolting Cocks
Pigface
Mr. Bungle
Tomahawk
Devin Townsend's solo stuff (heavy in parts but very trippy and ambient)

that's all I can think of without consulting my CD booklet.

I noticed that too. Do you listen to John Zorn at all? Or have you ever heard Estradashpere?

no, I've never heard Estradashphere. I have heard of John Zorn, but I havn't heard his music.
What are these guys like, where do you get their stuff at?

[Jun 9,2004 11:11am - moran ""]
John Zorn is jazz, but really weird at times. I don't know if he has a website or anything, but try to get Naked City, I would say its his best. If you're into Mike Patton type stuff, you'd like him. Patton is highly influenced by him.

Estradashpere is more along the lines of Mr. Bungle, but more talented. Their shit is all over the place, from metal to Beach Boys style accapela.
Estradasphere

John Zorn's crowning achievement is with Painkiller (JZ=alto sax, Bill Laswell (produced Motorhead's Orgasmatron, BTW)=bass, Mich Harris (Napalm Death)=drums)

there's a box set on amazon I think

next runner up, definitely Naked City
then Masada (less chaotic, but enjoyable--they have like a million live CDs)

Cat Stevens, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks (both awesome live), old NOFX and Pennywise, some Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Miller, and a taste of Eazy E and NWA to bring me back in time.

I've heard of Painkiller, but haven't heard it yet. I really like his Ennio Maricone cd, its fucking awesome. I love his solo stuff too, I don't know the name of any of it, but the one that he does the 007 theme rules. I think I might pick that up today.
