The real world isn't so kind, and RTTP is far from an escape. The first time I heard DevilDriver I had no clue who it was, and all I could think was, "This idiot singing reminds me of the dude from Coal Chamber too much," and also that the music was uninspired and quite commonplace among bands trying to capitalize on the growing trend of "underground metal" (I use that term quite loosely) rising to fame and MTV2 status. So I don't base my opinion on the fact that Dez is the singer, but when I found out that he was, it made sense and made me hate it more. So how do you know 90% of this forum hates Devildriver? have you asked each one of them? |
