When they get exposed to it, if they dig it, cool, if they don't, cool. Its not like you were listening to brutal death metal from the day you were born. At 1 point u were exposed to it.
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!
may be, maybe not.....but i do know this much...... i never got into any stupid mallcore shit.... my hippie uncle got me into the doors, and hendrix and all that stuff when i was little, my mom got me into megadeth, metallica and slayer when i was 11, and my friend bobby got me into death metal when i was 13. granted, i guess you're right, not everyone can be priveledged enough to grow up on rock n roll, and get into metal through relatives and friends....some people progressively get into heavier music, and they start at the bottom with gay bands like korn, and limp dipshit. i guess it did'nt dawn on me cuz i never went through such phases. but still, ya gotta admit.......the thought of a mallrat korn fan at cephallic carnage or cryptopsy show is at least a little annoying.
I'm the same way man, and I used to think a lot like that. I got into bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax and whole bunch of other metal bands when I was 8. Before that I don't really listening to much music. I even got suspended from school for wearing a Megadeth shirt in 4th grade because on the back of the shirt it said "Megadeth: the killing of millions on people". Some fuckin gay parent that saw my shirt complained to the school, the rest is history. But I completely hear where you're coming from, but a lot of kids don't have the luxury of getting into metal at such an early age. Over the last couple years I've met a lot of kids that really love there metal, but only a few years ago they were listening to some of the worst crap out there, just because they never heard anything better. So it's changed my opinion all together.
