Bomshelter sound problems?[views:6980][posts:19]________________________________ [Mar 7,2005 1:12pm - mattrct ""] We have played the bombshelter twice and everytime there is some problem with the sound. Last night we played some small show there and the guy only puts the vocals and bass drum, which over powers everything, through the PA. I'm not trying to sound like a cry baby but does this happen pretty offten?? |

As in I'd rather play a vfw hall with only a PA for vocals and kick drum. Our drummer was only getting vocals through the drum monitor. Also through the monitor in front of me all I could hear was myself, no drums. Stage sound is just as important as the sound in front of the PA. |

________________________________ [Mar 7,2005 1:20pm - mattrct ""] yea there were definitly moniter problems as well. But yea the bass drum was sooo loud you could not hear anything else, it was rediculous. |
_____________________________________ [Mar 7,2005 1:20pm - the_reverend ""] typically, it sucks for the first 1-2 bands. after that, it gets better and if you stand in the middle of the floor sounds awesome. just what I noticed. |

_________________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 8:49am - largefreakatzero ""] It seems to depend on whether the sound guy brings extra equipment or not. The last 2 shows we played there, all the bands sounded great. The soundguy told me that he brought some of his own equipment that he uses for national acts. Then again, when I saw Cannibal Corpse there, I thought they sounded like poop -- but that was without Jack Owen. |
__________________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 10:46am - Todd_Bombshelter ""] yea ,he does not usually bring any extras, except for nationals, I told him I wanted this to sound good because it was supposed to be a benefit show,so he thought that was a cool idea and agreed to hook it up |
_____________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 10:49am - RustedAngel ""] extra equipment wouldn't cure a bad onstage mix. It all come's down to routing the correct signals to each monitor to ensure each member can hear what they need. |
__________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 11:06am - powerkok ""] ya they need more drums and vocals coming thru the monitors, since there is usually none. I cant for the life of me hear my drummersa 4 counts on the hihat, cuz its so damn quiet onstage. |
_____________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 11:14am - RustedAngel ""] the drummer needs all guitars in the monitor always. not even vocals. |
________________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 11:31am - Josh_hates_you ""] the monitor mix depends on how flexible the board is. aux outs and sends as well as how many busses. depending on the board he might not have a choice but to send everyone the same mix. or he just doesn't know the signal path of the board. |
__________________________________ [Mar 8,2005 11:57am - powerkok ""] its not that, none of the monitors put anything out. I dont think theyre even hooked up. ya tom, we seriously thinking of bringin my other 4x12 just for the drummer to hear us. |

I dont think theyre even hooked up. ya tom, we seriously thinking of bringin my other 4x12 just for the drummer to hear us. definetly a good idea, we'll hopefully someday be using full stacks so we'll have the option of tilting one cab towards the drummer if we ever need too. |
