DrinkHardThrashHard said:
If it were a few hundred thousand white people stuck in New Orleans: 1) we wouldn't be having this conversation. 2) Kanye West would not give a fuck about what was happening. Now THERE is a racist for you. I loathe George Bush with a passion hinging on insanity, but I seriously doubt he's guilty of not sending enough aid on time because of the skin color of the survivors...I think that is stretching it, the fact is there are/were survivors of all 'races' down there suffering, and I do think Kanye's comments came off as impulsive, bitter and childish. Skin color is simply a pigment shown to the naked eye by the sun. When the hell will we all get over this? I'm looking forward to the day I can be called a person and not just a 'white person'.
I think that the color of the skin and are of where they are also includes their social standing. Most of these people are black and EXTREMELY lower class. POOR! If these were wealthy upper class whites, i'm sure better precautions would have been taken. NO ONE can deny that Bush favors UPPER CLASS people, and most of those people happen to be white. Christ, think about all the goddamn tax cuts that favor the rich.
