Aside from Dying Fetus, Krisiun, Goratory, Cryptopsy, Mortem, Morbid Angel-nothing off the top of my head has truely blown me away for death metal. I still like it alot. Thrash gives me a feeling I can't get from DM. Older Death Metal is awesome and is severly overlooked like Dimilich for example. Hardly anyone even has heard the name. |

Yeah, in my opinion for their time they were certainly brutal and yes, just because metal has gotten increasingly more faster and heavier, it doesnt make those past albums any less enjoyable. Consuming Impulse is a good example of an album that still levels you when you put it on. |

I'm talking about Pure Death Metal - in some shape or form all those bands have probably some vague association with DM but you can't sit here and tell me that a band like Seth or Merrimack has elements of DM in their sound.
