Ryan_M said:
"oh, the new cephalic carnage is way more brutal and technical" "dying fetus has wicked sick breakdowns" fuck that! entombed had spirit! bathory played from the fucking heart! death metal nowadays is a lot of technical bullshit, and competiton for the fastest blast beats. give me hellhammer over cephalic carnage any day of the fuckin week.
Totally correct, sir, the 'jock death' mentality, it's faster and more brutal so that makes it necessarily better. Something I simply cannot agree with. I enjoy brutality when it's effective and works within the song, and I do enjoy a lot of the new bands myself. Nile, Cephalic Carnage, etc. But there's a reason I still remember my 'Left Hand Path', 'Nocturnal Silence' and 'Realm of Chaos' albums and still listen to them over a decade later, and it's not just because they were brutal for their era.
