_____________________________________ [Nov 2,2005 9:48pm - the_reverend ""] hatebreed is going on. if I know how it's going to go... well... I'm expecting 45 minutes before they hit the stage. |
___________________________________ [Nov 2,2005 9:56pm - anonymous ""] haha same at metal fest |
______________________________________ [Nov 2,2005 10:02pm - the_reverend ""] it seems that every time I see hatebreed, there is a 30 minute sound check and then jasta is missing when the band is suppose to play so the band stands on stage waiting for 15 minutes and he runs in. what he's doing, I don't know... he could be off saving puppies or signing bands to his label, I really don't know, but that always happens. |

I guess I pushed between him and some over people and went up in front, crouching on the ground and he had beef with it and kept come up to me and then when ever I turned around, he would be there. he stopped me in the bathroom and appologized afterwards for me acting like I own the place. |

_____________________________________ [Nov 6,2005 8:59pm - the_reverend ""] when I walked in, I told steve eye9 that serge lets me in to photograph (which he does). and he says "you're from UNH? next time for a big show, email me first. I know you know my email." I was kind of weirded out that he knew who I was and related me to UNH and not RTTP. I figure out later why... it was cause I had a WUNH hoodie on. manntis: it was good to catch them again on this cost before they headed home. I caught them on the palladium show and I thought the set sounded ok there. I missed the best show they played (club fuel). their CD sounds awesome, but the two shows I saw them, the club's sound was pretty bad. hear, it was all echoy and sounded like sludge. I'm going to check the CD again. I'm not big on their make-up. gizmachi: I'm guessing most of the people who were there with the dreds were there to see them. believe it or not, the CD has more of a nu-metal sound to it. I think that they made it louder and harder and core.. um.. er for their live set. a lot of people went outside for them. if hope dies: this was the more death-metal of the bands. I know that there are some hardcore aspects to their music, but they are considerably harder than all the other bands that played this night. they took a really long time setting up compared to all the other bands (save hatebreed). I found out later that it was cause they had some technical difficulties. full blown chaos: finally, I caught a whole set of these dudes (missed the SOTU show and missed 1/2 of the club lido show). it's awesome that they are selling things (pretty sucessfully) to nu-metal kids. this is a really good band and shows that, yes, slipknots kids can be saved. the end of their set had kids yelling "wake the demons" and climbing on the pipes. WARNING: climbing on the pipes in the bombshelter will get you ejected. most precious blood: damn, it's been way too long since I've see them. I vote they play around here atleast once a month. I know.. I know, they've been all over the world, touring (even hitting south africa, check their myspace account). I haven't listened to more than a couple of songs off the new CD so I can't comment on how they played those or if I liked them, but they did play enough of the older tracks and intros so I was able to get into it. I didn't hear them play 'the picture hung itself', but then again, I didn't make the play list. Rob hopped up on the barricade at the beginning of the set and stayed there for a large part of the set. It allowed for a lot of my better pictures. a bunch of people came up on the crowd, but didn't really see them get tossed out during this set. I got over to the other side of the stage to try and capture the three jumps that rachel did.. I caught one (blurrish), missed the second by a fraction of a second, and walked around a pole as she did the second. hatebreed: their set up time was long-ish, but not the normal 45 minutes. this was about 30 minutes and then they all ran out of stage at the same time. they had the door on the side (fire exit) open for jasta's exit/entrance. I thought it was funny cause security had me (and mark mmmp) move out of the way so that jamey could make his hastey exit. speaking of security, they were pulling kids out left and right for the entire set. from fighting to pulling on the pipes, they wressled them down and tossed them out. this thinned the crowd out cause every time the bouncers went in, two kids got wrestled out and 5 of their friends would follow. at one point, some kids was bleeding a lot. I was told to go and take a picture. I went, asked the kid if I could take a picture of him and he said yes. some lady I've never seen more pushed my camera out of the way and told me to get out of there. sucks, it would have been a good picture too. anyhow, hatebreed played really good... but their set is so polished now. I'm a little.. um.. not let down.. but I'm not sure what the word is. I think they have worked on the same set so much that it seems that they can do it with their eyes close. anyhow, they played a slayer cover (I think it was reign in blood, but I forget now) and then later on covered the same sepultura song that throwndown covers, refuse/resist. later on, the bass rig messed up and then the drummer and guitar player pulled out a instrumental cover of slayer, south of heaven. jamey also was up on the barricade, but whenever he went up there, their tour manager would run out and hold him up there. that was kid of weird (like when the guy kept pulling a chair out for scott vogel in terror). hate them or not, a bunch of songs from their set are pretty classic. I was really happy with them playing older tracks from the satisfaction CD. towards the end of the set, they played dishonor. at that point, I almost took off, hearing the song that I like, but in the end I started til they were done. |
