BestialOnslaught said:
I really don't see how this has anything to do with making Kenny feel like shit, though I'm sure a lot of the people involved wouldn't mind. I think it's respectable that bands are putting their names out there to support the message, it's better than letting the rumor mill spread the word.
I genuinely don't see what the point of the boycott is. And those "FOR" say "To get Kenny the fuck out of the scene". That stupid. What does taht solve? That we can run people out of town? Someone said "in a town with 4 venues". Fine, we have 4 venues and he has a right that if he is going to book at any of them he is to do it in an ethical and responsible way. Clearly he hasn't. What we REALLY want is for someone to act in accordance with the as-yet unspoken rules that are to pay bands, follow through on verbal promises, etc etc. That's my goal. It seems there is another goal that people are talking about that they don't like kenny and just want to get back at him for fucking them over. That's not something I care to share in. However, I do support the idea of being formal and systematic about the approach. I think it will do more good than any other method if you make significant, clear demands from him and give him the choice whether or not to meet them.
