_____________________________________________ [Mar 14,2006 9:17pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] I had to show my folks this because they asked me if any technology existed that could replace their VCR, which keeps fucking up. They were a bit stunned by the price.
______________________________________ [Mar 14,2006 9:21pm - the_reverend ""] it was free. well, carina paid for it so it was free for me.
__________________________________ [Mar 14,2006 9:34pm - succubus ""] hah! fuxxor! we got the lifetime subscription...and the 80 hour box almost free, time to fill out rebate forms!
_____________________________________________ [Mar 14,2006 9:34pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] How much is the lifetime subscription? A fixed rate or monthly?

_____________________________________ [Mar 14,2006 9:46pm - KeithMutiny ""] i bought it for my parents for christmas, it took them 3 months to figure it out.
___________________________________ [Mar 15,2006 7:09am - ShadowSD ""] There's also another option that's just as good as tivo if not better, and it's wicked easy to figure out how to use. You can always see if your cable company offers a DVR box, I've had one for well over a year and I haven't watched a single commercial or wasted a second in front of a TV show I didn't really like; I watch less TV and at the same time miss nothing that I want to see. Best of all, it's only like $9 extra a month (from my cable company anyway). Only downside is I'm pretty sure you'd have to return the box if you moved, unlike tivo... but you can always copy stuff to a VCR if you really want.
_____________________________________ [Mar 15,2006 7:24am - jrb2971nli ""] I had tivo series 1, sold it.. got a 8 hour tivo series 2. I also had a comcast dvr - it was really good , but the software was far behind tivo's friendly UI. I also set up a pc with windows media crap.. then switched it to Nero home. You can get tivo for free soon (link)
______________________________________ [Mar 15,2006 7:52am - the_reverend ""] that's basically what we did. and as I said, we went with tivo for tivotogo so I can copy things to my computer.
