Man_of_the_Century said:
HailTheLeaf said:
Isn't that what I just described?
Partly... What you described was more of a combination of the two. Anarchism is just getting rid of laws and government. It has nothing to do with living in harmony where everyone does an equal share and gets an equal cut.
Riiight, try learning a little more about Anarchism, Emma Goldman mentioned a hell of alot more than just getting rid of laws and government. Anarchism is a set of beliefs, it was developed as a reaction against fascism. And it has plenty to do with co-ops, worker's rights, mutual aid, ending class warfare, and ensuring that the indivdual is involved in making decisions that affect them, or self-government. This would involve getting rid of our current facist, authoritarian institutions. I don't see anything wrong with that...how is that extreme?
If you were to have a local vote, you would have to hold an election every other day. How would you include them in the discussions about the laws in order to change them to something you like better? How would you educate the public on what the bills are, what they are for, the reason for making them (thats the big one, cause you still have congressmen that don't know what half of that stuff is)?
I guess that would be up to each community to decide...I like the idea of having a barbecue once or twice a month and working everything out then. Again there wouldn't be too many laws to work out because all the bullshit would be gone. Of course it would be easier for this idea to work if the majority of the U.S. weren't horribly overpopulated, apathetic, fat, stupid cows clinging to the idea that they have to continue supporting the very system that enslaves them.
