After that, nu metal bands started modeling themselves after that deftones sound. Thats why the deftones have been trying to keep their sound different on each album. But to each his own. Just because the deftones make heavy/melodic music with a strong back beat, does not make them nu metal |

Personally I love the deftones, every cd of theirs I tend to like for some reason or another. Around The Fur I feel is when they broke away from the whole affiliation with Korn & Limp Bizkit and I feel they found their nich on that album. I've never really called bands "nu-metal", if they're "nu-metal" I just consider them hard rock. By the way for $9.99 for a show like that I'm definately gonna go. It'll bring back memories of my teenage years plus seeing Korn and Chino playing "Wicked" which is rarely ever played live should be a nice treat. |
