I need some help real quick[views:5139][posts:11]_____________________________________ [Jul 5,2006 1:17pm - nickyhelliot ""] So I'm the lead vocalist for this band and I want to do lots of brutal metal stuff but they're all into metal core. They love Jfac and Animosity and Darkest Hour. Any advice on what I should have them veer away from metalcore stuff and more into metal? I need some thing that still has the emotion and power that they would love but no break downs for the stuff I love. |

However, there are bands that can be used as a 'bridge' that sound metalcoreish and metal at the same time. Depends on the metal though. If I were trying to get metalcorish kids into deathmetal, I'd make them listen to glass casket. Also, In Dire Need seems to be universal among metal, everyone loves IDN. If I were trying to get someone into metal, those are two bands I would definately make them listen to. |

Depends on the metal though. I find Seed to be of this nature. they're not a metalcore band, but they have some riffs that have that 'moshcore' feel to them. they're one of the few bands that I feel bridges the taboo gap between real metal and metalcore well. ***NOTE*** (specifically to Kyle[a.k.a. Seedbassist]) I'm not calling Seed metalcore, just relating the similarities with the feel of some of your songs. Seed's newer material is much more tech-metal then pseudo-core influenced metal. But as I was saying, they bridge the gap nicely, and pull in both metal and hardcore kids to shows. So, you can have a '*core' influence in your band without being labeled metalcore |
