THE END - Within Dividia[views:3578][posts:7]_________________________________ [Aug 4,2006 11:13am - Anthony ""] Usually I can casually enjoy "tech/math/core/metal/whatever" [ ie Ion Dissonance, DEP etc.] bands in brief amounts, but the whole crazy riff after crazy riff that never goes anywhere doesnt keep me coming back. But THE END's second CD is really fucking incredible. If you havent checked it out I highly suggest you do. Probably one of the best Relapse discs in the past few years. Not only do they mindfuck you with the riffs but the CD has a depressing, heavy atmosphere and the lyrics are ambitious as it is a concept album. [img] |

___________________________________ [Aug 4,2006 11:50am - blue nli ""] solid cd, this band kind of seemed like they dropped off of the face of the earth though. its was released in 2004, and last time they toured was the beginning of 2005. |
_________________________________ [Aug 4,2006 12:38pm - Anthony ""] i agree Blue, I would love to hear more from this band and would kill to see them come through on tour. From footage I've seen, it seems like the live show is pretty nuts. |

_________________________________ [Aug 16,2006 3:48pm - Anthony ""] From smnnews.com: The End - Commence Recording New Album posted on Aug 16 2006 02:36 pm Canadian quintet THE END has begun recording their new full-length album. This as-of-yet-untitled release is being recorded at B.W.C. Studios in Brampton, Ontario with producer Greg Dawson. THE END vocalist Aaron Wolff (the band is rounded out by guitarists Steve Watson and Andrew Hercules, bassist Sean Dooley and drummer Anthony Salajko) describes the writing process: "There was a very conscience effort to create the album that people won't be able to predict, and won't get tired of. It's a record for metal heads, it's a record for hardcore kids, it's a record for rock n’ rollers. We're really focusing on exploring things that are very human, basic human emotions...The things that people try to hide and cover up but are still there no matter what is done to forget about it.....the kind anyone can relate to." "We also felt the need to do things that are were out of the ordinary for ourselves as song writers, to keep things new and exciting and to make moves in directions we've never explored.” Wolff continues; "The result, is an extremely diverse record. Right from the first word we are pulling the listener inside the record. We truly feel that there is something in this record for anyone, as long as they are willing to let themselves forget about everything around them and focus on where the sound takes them. We are extremely happy with the progress we have made thus far." The recording of the new album will wrap at summer's end and will be released in early 2007 on Relapse Records. Sounds awesome! |
