I can't take them seriously as a whole, I won't deny that they're all very talented musicians, but as a friend of mine said: "alot of their riffs sound like Bodom, with clean high vocals" immediately followed by: "the rest of the riffs that don't sound like Bodom sound like riffs that Gamma Ray threw out" I have to agree with him. the novelty factor, that I see, comes form the fact that all the mallcore kids think they're a joke, and dont' take them seriously (just like CoF). I don't hate dragonforce, I just don't like them nearly as much as the earlier power metal bands (i.e. running wild, gamma ray, blind guardian, stratovarius) even hammerfall falls short of the "take me serious" factor (though I like hammerfall better then dragonforce by FAR) |

CoB is an awesome melodic death metal band. Most melodic DM is very boring anyway, but CoB were incredible up to and including the third album. |
