I did every variety of shitty job when I entered the workplace, from paper routes to dishwasher to Blimpie's to Taco Bell. I was even the senior programmer of a small website company for a couple of years. But at about 20, I was like fuck this, any way I'm going to make money will involve playing my guitar; that's what I do, that's what I am. My parents were sure I was nuts and would fall flat on my face trying to move out based on just that income. But between teaching guitar, theory, and playing out, I've never had to do anything else in the last seven years. I sure don't make much extra cash, but I love what I do and it doesn't feel like a job, and I've been able use the extra hours I have free to manage/promote my band. It just takes REALLY GOOD planning and the balls to take the risk, and to reject what society tells you that you have to do to be successful. |

Ohh, what is it that I do? I bulid huge buildings out of CMU's in the Extreame conditions of the weather. I am responsable for making sure all the other jackasses build the building to the right specs(Heights, Details and coursing). Though, you may have to use your Brains, I have to use my brains and brawn. I have lots of responsibility, as to not fuck up a mulit million dollar project, with other people following my lead, And that is only because I have been doing this trade(Masonry) for 15+ years. Yeah, I think neither of us could easily trade jobs, but i do often entertain the thought. My point was, work sucks ass and I have to lie to myself every morning just to get outta bed! |
