If you pay more taxes, there are more programs to offer better jobs/better pay, which in turn cuts down on crime, you pay less for prisons, you don't get your shit broken into & stolen, everyone wins. Anyone crying about having to pay a small tax hike should actually look up what their taxes end up paying for, find out how they actually benefit from it, and stop crying for once. IE Things like free afterschool programs became pay-to-play because of cuts to local aid; so while you might have had a larger refund from the state the new fees you had to pay ate up that refund check. Also, while I'm not big on taxes I'm pretty fine with using those taxes or the local funds that come from increased taxes sensibly instead of closing down needed services and jobs such as local fire deparments. I guess I'd rather pay the extra .25% on my income than burn to death because the nearest open fire house is half an hour away. |

The only reason that NH is a blue state is because Mass sucks so badly that everyone from there immigrates north to NH.
