The point is, when thinking of a research paper topic on a class that you haven't attended all semester, it's a good place to look to get a basic understanding of the topics that would have been covered in class lectures. While Wikipedia is written by anyone, it usually at least breaks down sociological theories so that he'd get a useful outline of the subjects within his chosen topic that he'd need to do his research on. I didn't tell him to use Wikipedia for references, I told him it'd be useful in figuring out a topic to write about, and to use EBSCO and google scholar to find articles for reference. [/QUOTE]
