watchmaker666 said:
DC++ is safer than bittorrent? seems like emule or edonkey to me. Ill check it out and see whats up though.
DC++ is 100% peer to peer. No sharing takes place across a central hub. Since I use hubs based overseas, copyright laws and such have no authority. Since it's peer to peer, the only way RIAA or some other sort could get your info is if you download or upload to an riaa member, or if they demanded your info from the hub server. Since the latter would only be possible if it were a U.S. based hub, you've really got little to worry about. Obviously with any filesharing app or method, you should be careful. I never leave shit running when I'm not at the computer, and I always watch my uploads like a hawk, seeing who is looking at my filelists and downloading what. Remember, the RIAA hasn't been going after anyone for downloading. It's the uploads they're worried about. You can easily get around this by building a 30 gig folder of free porno sample movies from varying websites. No illegal uploads means nothing they can sue you for.
