HCN News, Powerkok Relocation Program, etc.[views:10491][posts:19]__________________________________ [Feb 27,2007 1:13am - powerkok ""] Ok, this will be probably the most painful post, I will ever type here on the everchanging landscape of RTTP. Well, it is looking like Hand Choke Neck, is in fact, completely disbanded. Before I explain whats going on, let me just say thank you, sincerely, to all of you who helped us out, carried 100lb cabs up fire escapes, got us shows, took pictures, lent equip, etc. You guys know who you are, and you are indeed selfless, generous, good people. All the bands weve played with, most of them were great people as well, and speaking for myself, it was usually a great time. I am truly proud of HCN, and I REALLY hate to see it, at least in this manifestation, end, but shit happens, and we will all move on. Shit happening also brings me to the next subject. I have been offered a great job, and housing oppurtunity, so as of June 2007, I will be relocating, along with my wife and 2 daughters, 1600 miles south, to the sunny, white sand beaches of Southwest Florida. Typing this, and knowing the finality of it, pains me greatly. This is my home, and has been for over 15 years. Nothing could ever replace it, nor would I attempt to try. Its going to be a huge adjustment for my whole family and I, and to be honest, its pretty fucking scary to uproot and take a giant gamble like this, but what I lack in reassurance, I make up for with fortitude. I will make it happen. That being said..... Its an oppurtunity that I feel, if passed up, will never come along again, and is my one way ticket to not being a poor slave for my ENTIRE life. If you know me personally, talk to me, I will explain more in detail. I have 3 months to say my goodbyes, and I will still be on here, but even with a bright venture on my horizon, I am deeply saddened to leave NH. HCN never released a live VCD, with a years worth of different shows. It is roughly 35 minutes long and I will snail mail you one if you email me. I have roughly 10 left, and they are VCD's not DVD, but will play on most DVD players with MPEG support. Welp....thats about it for now. I have some planning to do.... We had a lot of fun, and kicked a lot of ass. We just had so many things going on that it made time for the band near impossible. I live 1 1/2 hrs. from our practice space, and my wife is 7 months pregnant. Had the best time in my life playing with HCN, and if anyone is looking for great musicians.....I'm sure that we'll all be around in the future. Until then, methinks I'm gonna start a little computer edited black / folk project. |
