IMMOLATION said:
FuckIsMySignature said:
I will agree that the first album was subpar in many respects... but it was also their first album and he admitted that they were still trying to find direction for their music. At no point did Dez ever say... HOLY SHIT WE ARE THE BEST BAND EVER AND THIS CD KILLS EVERYTHING!!. In fact in interviews, he stated that after 3 albums they are finally starting to get the sound they want. But of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I agree, the first album is their best work. If you don't like this band fine but don't talk shit about it just because you're too closed minded and can't understand it, there's some metalheads here who really like 'em ok.
How does one agree that the first album is their best work if the original quote says, "the first album was subpar in many respects?" I'm just busting your balls, but I thought that was funny. Anyway, DevilDriver do suck, and sorry for "talking shit" because I don't like a band. Everyone here is entitled to their opinion, so you'll just have to suck it up, cupcake. If you like a band that 90% of this forum hates, you're obviously going to get shit tossed at you or read some comments you don't like about the band. Fucking deal with it. Just because someone likes a band doesn't mean everyone else is going to say, "Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were a fan, I'll silence my opinions on them from now on." The real world isn't so kind, and RTTP is far from an escape. The first time I heard DevilDriver I had no clue who it was, and all I could think was, "This idiot singing reminds me of the dude from Coal Chamber too much," and also that the music was uninspired and quite commonplace among bands trying to capitalize on the growing trend of "underground metal" (I use that term quite loosely) rising to fame and MTV2 status. So I don't base my opinion on the fact that Dez is the singer, but when I found out that he was, it made sense and made me hate it more.
