I had a decimator and NS-2

I sold the decimator, the NS2 worked much better without loosing any signal quality.

my old ns-2 was a complete failure. added more noise to my whole setup and in the end shit the bed completely.

my NS2 shit the bed, and MAJORLY soaked tone it's whole life. I won't recomend that to anyone! Get a decimator pedal and forget about it.

youre crazy. you're telling me that your particular NS-2 just happened to be the only one in history that wasnt a huge tone sucker?

super cs are solid as long as you know how to dial it. mines never given me an ounce of issues.

ive never had any problems with my ns2. i also dont use super high gain but it doesnt effect my tone, when i turn it off its just a little more feedback but the tone is the same.

try taking your ns-2 out of your signal path. youll hear it.

I've had issue with my Hush lately. My best left hand muting and how I dial it in it still adds an awkward click sound shortly after I start playing.

I have the rackmount ISP Decimator and it's amazing. My amp coupled with the X2N I have in my bridge create SO much feedback and when I have the Decimator turned on, it's the quietest thing ever. It does take a bit of time to set up the thresholds but it's worth it for sure. Best $400 I've spent in a while. I've read and watched some videos on the pedal and seems to work pretty well comparably to the rackmount version.

I think I'm proof that being outrageously picky about the small stuff leads you to spend all of the money you have on gear.

what i find hilarious is that your noise gate is as expensive as your head, your cab and your guitar.

My cab was $200 from the Mortalis guitarist, my amp was just under $600 and my guitar was $700 new and it has new pickups and a bunch of new hardware. I don't know if you were taking a jab at my head [:(] but I really like my set up. I'm putting in new power tubes so those should make up for any scratchiness the amp has. I know my tone hasn't been the greatest at the last few shows but damnit I'll make it work.

im not taking a jab at anything of yours, i was merely typing the exact thing i thought the first time i saw you guys play.

it wouldnt hurt to invest more in other things before a top of the line noise gate, in my opinion. what you have going for a rig isnt bad at all for your age. i had just purchased a blue voodoo halfstack when i was 18 eeeekkkk.

Haha, well if you heard my amp at practice or from older shows you would understand why I needed a noise gate. The feedback was ridiculous. I post on another forum made for the B-52 AT-100 and everyone there recommended the Decimator. I did a bunch of research and am actually really glad I did get it. Next purchase is either an equalizer or a new cab.

I just compared them heavily through my amps and with my perticular setup, I was getting equal feedback reduction but the NS2 wasn't fading pinch harmonics.

I compared them both for about an hour fine tuning each one, and then sold the decimator to Brian DC

regardless of the gating issues, the decimator is by far the more transparent choice. the ns-2 has noticeable tone suckage.

Not through my rig.

I ran them both through a peavey XXX (which the decimator did much better in front of) and a KRANK revolution (which niether won because that amp is terrible sounding).

nah, the footswitch isn't quite so fancy

the rack unit is so good and I think I've got the shit that merits it....I don't have the money that does anymore though.

I actually just bought a NS-2. Sadly, id like to get the rack DECIMATOR, to try it out, but, my amp is a 1978 Marshall SuperLead, simply no insert loops in it. Decimator sounds like a tone saver, but, the NS2 is definetly more acurate on gating (since its a gate, not a supressor). Using multi pedals though, the NS2 will change its response as you go from Overdrive to Distortion....Just my opinion
