wasn't this thread supposed to pop up like ehhh 3 years ago when everyone crossed over from metalcore to hydrahead and made doom another flooded stale genre?
Yeah, because we all know Hydrahead spearheaded the Doom Metal genre. They're not even a Doom label. Stephen O'Malley released Khanate's first two albums on Southern Lord and then Aaron Turner decides he wants to put out Capture and Release; subsequently trying to turn Hydrahead into Southern Lord and Battle Kommand Records. The bands people have listed in this thread have nothing to do with the Neurosis/ISIS clone genre that popped up. I don't see current or former metalcore kids rocking out to Katatonia's Brave Murder Day, diSEMBOWELMENT's Trascendence into the Peripheral, Corrupted's El Mundo Frio, or Mournful Congregation's The Monad of Creation.... Guess that's just me Much needed edit of this post: "TUNE LOW - PLAY SLOW" - Kirk Windstein
