Beakey from Disengaged reviews RAMPANT DECAY's ANTISOCIAL DEATHMARCH[views:9882][posts:39]____________________________________ [Jun 4,2009 11:03pm - RichHorror ""] I would like to start this review off by admitting that I am completely stoned out of my mind, and I am on my third glass of wine. I tell you not about my third glass of wine to impress you---no---I tell you this so that you understand my words. You’re not going to find many decent people in this world that like this demo, I’ll just start off by saying that. But the lingering impression that those involved with the demo may just possibly not give a fucking shit about what decent people think is fairly constant, and often times directly in your face. It’s the kind of music that dickheads listen to, sometimes when they’re stoned, other times when they’re having girl problems, and then sometimes just because they need something to listen to while they are walking to work, which, let’s face it, isn’t quite their choice as it’s clearly more of a legal thing, seeing as they’re on their third DUI, seventeenth public drunkenness charge, and third 800mg Ibuprofen. They know the 800mg Ibuprofen won’t do anything, but they took it anyway, just because it was pill, and because it was there. The music itself is fucking awesome. I’m getting a Disrupt vibe at times, and other times I’m seeing more of a Code 13 type of thing going on, but, either way, it’s fucking awesome. And trust me, the last thing I would ever want to do with my life is publicly admit that Rich Horror did something good. The kid lives in fucking New Bedford, for Christ's sake. It's my duty as a non-New Bedford resident to keep him the fuck away from others. The next thing that comes to mind is a father sitting at home, relaxing in front of the television set. Now shut your eyes and imagine this. You’re at home, you’re an old dude, you’re a little buzzed, but no more than any other night---you’re a dad. All of the sudden, you hear a noise is the distance, but not too deep in the distance, maybe even closer than you think. It’s getting louder, and closer, and before you know it, you can hear it right in front of your house. It’s a dude showing up to take your daughter out, and he’s playing Rampant Decay on a fucking tape deck that he stole out of some other dude‘s Geo Prism. What do you do? Do you let your daughter date a man that listens to music like this? Most people would be inclined to say “no.” I just keep thinking of that goddamn dad. He’s just sitting there with nothing to think about but what his daughter would actually end up doing with a dude that would listen to this shit. I’m starting a new paragraph here because I literally sat there and quivered for about three minutes thinking about the last paragraph. All in all, I’d say Rich Horror and Co. did a pretty great job on this demo. Loud music, played fast, and done with questionable lyrics. It’s the stuff that dreams are of. It’s pure, it’s loud, it’s bleak, and it’s mind-fuckingly pissed. Everyone can go and fucking suck my ass. Congratulations, Rich Horror. This was your life. |

Beakey: You gotta do more than just add a hair-bow to impress the kids these days, or 1983, for that matter. RichHorror: Those were the days before video game companies realized if you want the kids to play a female character, they better be able to jack off to her. Beakey: Speak for yourself. I always found Ms. Pac-Man to be quite becoming. Actually...BRB |
