To me there is no need to "change your heart" about it; as I said above, it must be accepted. A ying to the yang, etc. A balance between the drastic attributes of love and hate - the acceptance of that which is always present within yourself. There's no reason to dismiss something that is always there. But it's your choice to do what you want and listen to what you want.. obviously, I'm not listening to black metal all the time. There are things in life which black metal and its presence have no purpose to be around, and from an artistic point of view, its emotions don't represent everything. Maybe i'm just doing crazy talk, but I would never dismiss something which encompasses the emotions of hate and fear. It's always going to be there. I started with a little bit of it then went all out buying all the obscure stuff. Then I had too much to listen to and got overwhelmed. Then I saw that I was buying random albums because they had members of this and that. I made alot of 15 dollar mistakes. I sold most of it and only keep the really good stuff like root, mercyful fate, tormentor, etc...I am drifting and going beyond hatred. |
