When ever I hit the road I always keep one of these close by... The worth T ball bats are the ones I dig... Compact and you can swing them faster when in a pinch...
I had the same idea. Last time touring with Pillory, the guys thought I was crazy for throwing one of these under my seat: Same reasons as you: shorter length, easier to draw and use in tight spaces. Also +1 to weed, and avoiding hotsauce. Also, bring DISINFECTING CLEANER SPRAY, AIR FRESHENER, and some PAPER TOWELS. Sometimes you have no choice, the stinky disgusting toilet at the gas station is your only option. No one wants aids from a toilet seat, eh? Also, bring a portable DVD player + use redbox, or load a laptop harddrive with a fuckton of movies/t.v. shows. Finally, if you get stir crazy (I do BADLY) plan time for stops. I spent most of the time in the van sleeping as much as I could, because after a couple hours awake in there I would start getting REALLY frustrated. The occasional stop at a convenience store, rest area, or whatever is great. Just the chance to stand up completely for 5 minutes, you know?
