Cripes, IMDB's raters already have it at 9.6/10.
Must they always vote NEW movies that high and let all the classics slip away on the "top 100 list" ?
Damn kids.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where homer get's stuck upside down in a cave hole, and plot becomes a story within a story within a story within a story.

just saw this the other night.highly recommended for those who like mind fuck movies. it's a deep movie, filled with philosophical aspects that make you qestion reality, somewhat like the matrix.
It is NOT a masterpiece but a very good movie. Music was awesome too. Hans Zimmer- need I say more?
Nolans modern style of film making is cool, but he's missing something in each movie. Best part is when Paris gets folded in half like a sandwich.

Saw it last weekend, my first time in a non-imax movie theater in many years. I hate the seats and armrests, and the small screen/crappy surround sound.

But I digress. Movie was good, better than I expected it to be. I didn't see any previews for it though, so for me I was just expecting a Dicaprio Matrixy movie. If you see it, go for the more visually stunning experience at IMAX or home HD theater, you spoiled rich fuck.

PRECISE coriography(sp?), and a spinning room.

I hope.
If it was all CGI for that scene, I'm gonna find Chris Nolan, kick him in the shin and call him a whimpering limp dick pussy.

The big question:

because movement and angles affect the positioning of the dream, does that mean bats' dreams are always upsidedown?

it was rotating pretty fast...I'm assuming harnesses were involved too, but it just seemed really fast-paced and violent (not in a bloody sense, but in a jerky motion sense)...either way it was very well done

Observation of reality is relative to what reality really is. We are but a grain of sand in a ever expanding bubble of existence floating on a dimensional rift between universes; a multiverse of space and time which has no beginning or end but only that of which our brain deciphers to be true.

Saw it yesterday, liked it a lot, think some of the acting could've been a lot better (3rd Rock from the Sun boy). When DiCaprio's on screen with him he loses something, but when Leo's acting with "his dad" (I was surprised by him, won't say who) he seemed to act a hundred times better.

The plot wasn't THAT much of a mindfuck, it was a little convoluted, but they did a great job within the whole "dream plot" thing.

Looks beautious, obviously, especially the Jamiraquoaiouoai-esque fight scene.

Just finished watching this tonight. Awesome movie, just really, really long. Action was intense, especially the 3rd Rock dude's no gravity fight scene. Darse choke in zero gravity=win. My only complaint is at the end. I dunno if I missed something, but with his thing still spinning and then it looks like it just might fall, but then they cut out, it seems to me that they want you to draw your own conclusion. Either way, great movie, will watch again to get a better understanding of it.

huge blockbusters have been lackluster lately, was this all super cgi-action fuck fest with no plot? I just watched Transformers 2 and wanted to kill myself at how much it sucked. and did they really have blackface robots?

No, this movie really wasn't too much CGI at all, other than when they kept shape shifting the worlds and shit. The plot was pretty awesome, but really confusing and hard to follow at times. I'd recommend it.

Funny, i recently found the time to get around to watching this, and i can see how people would make the obvious matrix analogy, but other than having the subjective nature of reality as a major theme, i think inception is totally different, and IMHO, a LOT better. To review it succinctly, i would say that when a movie that toys with perception and reality can engage me with its plot to the point where i can suspend disbelief of some of the more outrageous plot devices (how do they dream in groups and why is everyones dream perfectly realisitic? why doesnt leo di caprios wife become a multi headed dragon spewing forth maple syrup while his mother watches fanning herself with a palm leaf to the sound of wagners tristan und isolde played backwards?)
...then i consider it a cinematic home run. As for the matrix, even the first one which was sorta good i kept getting pissed off why i wasnt given a proper explanation of why you had to die when you died in what was in essence a dream that you could wake up from.
