I think the thrash revival in general catches a lot of flak on these boards, because they tend to attract a decent number of hipsters and fair weather metal fans who go to be part of the "scene", but don't really care as much about the music or metal in general. People will nit pick just about any sub-genre of metal, though, so I wouldn't sweat it.
What metal revival these days DOESN'T attract a bunch of hipsters?
Exactly. And really, who cares? The music is the same, regardless of who else is in the room listening. Also, I'd gladly take a room full of PBR swilling, skinny pant wearing hipsters over a bunch of tough guy "scene" dudes and straight edgers taking cheap shots at people in the pit (including women), fighting over utter bullshit, standing 30 ft. away from the stage, [or worse yet] sitting on the front of the stage with their backs turned, and practicing their "dance" moves between sets (and that's just a small part of it). Seriously... come live in Albany for a while. hahaha!!! You guys have a great scene in New England (aside from the fucking hipsters!).
