C.O.C. "Animosity lineup" reunion[views:7741][posts:3]_____________________________________ [Oct 12,2010 2:04am - late_rising ""] was in NYC this weekend and caught this tour last night at Highline Ballroom. Lots of things really sucked about this show - the venue, the sound (which was horrible), the disinterested and fairly small crowd, the opening acts (Today is the Day are painful to sit through, I'm sorry) ... but C.O.C. themselves were awesome, really tight - in a C.O.C. way, still "loose" - and totally into it. Mike D's bass playing is mind blowing as always. Has anyone heard their new 7" on SL with this lineup? Cause they dropped all 7+ minutes of it right in the middle of the set, and it was a massive buzzkill, took the already-lame crowd right out of it. I want to check it out, the song wasn't bad but was more stoner groove stuff and didn't fit in with the Animosity/Technocracy-era thrash we were all there to hear. The songs that Reed Mullen sings from those records really stand out, he has a much better voice for metal than Dean, although Dean is unique with his vocals in a mostly good way. And Woody Weatherman looks more like Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds more now than ever! anyone else from here at that show? and do people really like Today is the Day in 2010? |
