the taste of silver: I was listening to them and was trying to figure out their style. it started off pretty hard at first. Some of it reminded me (vocally) of bob from eyes.like.autumn. Just his scream, there weren't fata cleands like bobby use to do. In the middle there was some parts that totally sounded like motion sickness out-tacks. then at the end, it got better and reminded me a tiny bit of red roses for a blue lady. prayer for a plague: this was a surprise, mostly to the band who just showed up to see the show. They grabbed ttos's equipment and went for it. Awesome to see them again. they have a lot of songs that start slow and simple and then work out in hc-grind that this awesome. Granted their bass played wasn't there, but there were parts that were too spacious between riffs. I don't remember what the bass player would be doing there, but those holes might be filled by them. solipsist: it's been a long time since I've seen them live. I know that "singer" have been mentioned for this band, but I don't know how it would fit in. It's very interesting and influecned but meshuggah. the awesome part is that it's almost meshuggah-on-demand as kev has a metronome that they set to how fast they want the song to be. Pretty sick cause they can speed up and slow down songs that way. Their "fast" song is pretty awesome.. watching rob's hands move to keep up with the fast pace. they also can slow it down making songs longer. my enemy myself: speaking of needing and metronome. I guess they kept talking about playing "too fast". since I don't know their stuff, I didn't notice. They were all wicked drunk and kept apologizing. Sounded pretty good from where I was standing, but what do I know. umbrella: definitly an awesome set to be their "last". they played all of the material that they knew. I know a lot of people will be bummed if they don't return... but I'm sure they will be back in 3 months. lambgoat will probably know before me. the network: the first time in the basement that I've actually heard the vocals. that $$$ mic made all the difference. This band is amazing and needs to get signed by metal-blade. All the people that left for the BBQ should shoot themselves in the face. These guys are hardcore drinkers and pound tons of whiskey and rum.
