if you really care that much, the guitar I used for this was a BC Rich Masterpiece Bich with upgraded pickups (can't remember what the dude did to it before I bought it from him). Looks like this but with cloud inlays: [img]
my setup is a Peavey Valveking head (came with better tubes when I bought it.. again though, can't remember, nor do I care really) with a Hughes and Kettner Vortex cab.
For pedals on this recording I used:
-Maxon OD808
-Digitech X Series Digidelay
- Boss Chorus Pedal
- Boss Reverb Pedal
I have a bunch of other pedals but I'm not quite sure if I'm going to use them for this project.
I'm not really a gear junkie and have limited knowledge about stuff. I can tell you all about Impulse Tracker, but barely anything about guitars and amps, other than what sounds good to me hahaha.
The other guitar player used a Genz Benz El Diablo and just got a Vader cab, although I don't think the cab was used on this recording. Slag would know.

All ITB. Very little compression across the board. Maybe -6db on the Bass. I used a bunch of parallel compression on the drums. Minimal 2-buss compression, a tiny bit of saturation on the master buss. A Little eq. During the long drone parts, my intent was to get it sounding a bit like the wall of sound type deal parts ala 1990's shoegaze/britpop phase while not losing the edge. All and all, it was a really fun song to mix. I look forward to the rest of the songs. And pizza.

taking into consideration that abaroth won't play out that often, I'm considering starting a simple death/doom or perhaps thrashy band that satisfies my need to play live. granted, I don't have a completely free schedule, but I enjoy playing live shows. when abaroth first stopped playing live in 2005, I didn't play out again for another 3 years, until herugrim. and now it's approaching the 3 year mark for herugrim's last show as well. it really humbles you as a musician when you haven't played shows in sometime; I miss it greatly. if herugrim never gets back into fruition as a live band, i'm heavily considering a few projects and hunting for a few members.

Uploaded an unreleased Abaroth track from 2004-2005 after I initially left the band. This was recorded with Tor on drums, who is now the frontman for the band Elder. The production ain't great, but oh well. let me know if anyone wants the mp3.
