Shipyard - Pumpkinhead, has always ruled pretty hard. It's well balanced but certainly has a great spice note that is rounded out perfectly. Consistently one of the best out there. A Smuttynose - Pumpkin Ale, not really my thing this year. Too much Puree makes the finish a lil too dare I say bitter. Not a pleasure to drink. B- Brooklyn Brewery's Post Road - Pumpkin Ale, is a standout again. CRISP. Very smooth balance with the nutmeg and cinnamon makes it wicked easy to drink. Damn fine pumpkin I must say! A Harpoon - UFO Pumpkin, has a copper color and light head. I feel it's almost more of a juice than a beer. I like this in a glass more than the bottle (which is weird cause I prefer most pumpkin ale straight from the bottle). B Cisco - Pumpkin Drumkin, this has a sweet dry taste. Brown sugar?? I like how this ale is concerned more with being a Spiced ale rather than a straight up Pumpkin, yet it's totally focused appeasing the pumpkin palate. Damn fine beer from one of MA's most underrated Breweries. A-
