Whoops Carine Roitfeld does not literally worship Satan, let's throw away Sacrément Inspirée
I have no idea what this is but I understand your point. Satanic imagery can most definitely be cool to look at. When it comes to bands though, doing something to look cool or be seen as cool is not something I respect. My personal opinions about the nature of existance aside, I feel like a band that has lyrics about satanism and believes in the philosophy has much more artistic integrity than a band that sings about satanic themes to be edgy or cool. The only exception I can think of is if the band is using satanic themes satirically.
How about a better example? Lars von Trier is not a Satanist nor is he a Christian, but I wouldn't write off the merits or integrity of Antichrist because of that. Roman Polanski is not a Satanist nor is he a Christian, yet Rosemary's Baby still holds up. I guess "looks cool" was oversimplifying it but you can definitely explore those themes with plenty of integrity even if you don't personally subscribe to those beliefs.
