The Haunted finally break up, about time[views:63711][posts:33]_________________________________ [Oct 16,2012 10:54pm - Spence ""] http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=180887 Not officially anyway, but if their lead guitarist and main songwriter is gone then it's only a month or two till they decide to pull a Nevermore and just break up for good. |

_________________________________ [Oct 16,2012 11:02pm - KEVORD ""] Who cares? The debut was good and that's about it. All I'd care about is another At the Gates reunion. |

_______________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 9:46am - eggo mcbrain ""] The first three albums are good, not just two. After that, it was sellout time. Band has been dead to me for years. |
___________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 10:36am - Gaybook ""] At the Gates and Haunted were horrible. Actual fact |

Warrel Dane himself said that Nevermore is just going to be a festival-only band from now on and that we can't expect any real tour dates or new albums for a long time and possibly forever. Sounds pretty broken up to me. |

________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 2:15pm - xmikex ""] I really liked the first record when it came out. A lot. For some reason it just didn't stand the test of time. The next record was boring, and I never looked back. |

Sounds pretty broken up to me. Source? Only thing I've heard is the bands on the back burner while he concentrates on the Sanctuary reunion that was in the works before Van and Loomis even left. I'd also like to see where he said that so I can send a PM to the new guitarist, let him know they broke up on him. |
________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 2:44pm - Burnsy ""] At Spence, yes I consider them active. |
________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 3:02pm - Spence ""] Eh, I mean it's not completely broken up, but I consider it kind of an indefinite state of inactivity. I'll find the interview later on, obviously Warrel didn't say they were breaking up, but he did pretty much say Sanctuary is going to be pretty much the only thing he focuses on for a long time and Nevermore's only going to do festivals now. |
______________________________ [Oct 17,2012 5:43pm - BSV ""] Fatal blow for the Swedish Melodeath legions. Christ, they were the fucking rage kid at NEMHF 01? Made Me Do It was a fine release. |

__________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 9:00pm - Dankill ""] First two albums were the balls when they came out. Then they made like just about every Swedish melodic death metal band and decided it was time to suck for cash. |
________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 9:17pm - Spence ""] It's particularly funny that they went the way they did, since they did that huge In Flames and Children of Bodom bashing fest back in the day about those bands selling out to total shit. Which they did, but still hypocritical of them. |
_________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 9:17pm - MikeOv ""] I was never really too keen on The Haunted. When they first came out I tried to enjoy them because of the ATG/Seance/Satanic Slaughter connections but they were consistently flawed in the vocal department. One of the only things they did that I can willingly praise was a cover of The Well of Souls by Candlemass, off of that Power from the North: Sweden Rocks the World compilation. |
_________________________________ [Oct 17,2012 9:29pm - MikeOv ""] From what I can remember of it, the debut, musically, did have some cool moments. The track In Vein comes to mind. Been years since I last heard it. Maybe I'll give it another go on my morning commute tomorrow. |

Seriously, I have a hard time reconciling their choices in the vocalist department as anything other than an attempt to cater to the bros of core. They were both ahead of and behind their time. |

__________________________________ [Oct 18,2012 2:41pm - Gaybook ""] They had the singer from Facedown (Marco). IMO he was better than the original. Saw them many times cuz they were on cool bills. Fell asleep standing up when they came on. |
