Razor after Sheepdog left[views:2208][posts:2]_______________________________________ [Jan 26,2013 7:16am - HookedonMetal ""] It goes without saying that the old days of Razor with Sheepdog was definitely the best era of Razor. I don't think they'll ever make an album that beats Evil Invaders or Executioner's Song. But I do also think that Bob Reid is a pretty solid replacement. In my opinion, Shotgun Justice, Open Hostility, and Decibels were all pretty fucking solid albums. OK, Decibels wasn't as good, but it was better than most of what was coming out in 1997. Opinions? inb4 seemingly obligatory trolling posts. bennyhillifier bennyhillifier |
____________________________________________________________ [Jan 26,2013 12:28pm - Big bag of assorted nigger parts ""] I like Bob's vocals just fine, I just don't like the "drum" sounds on the drum machine ones like Open Hostility. Shotgun Justice album has real drums though, and it rips. Decibels is weird, it's just so... Slow. Turns out there's a faster version floating around in the internet that's still in the same key, worth tracking down. |
___________________________________________________ [Jan 26,2013 3:28pm - Lamp and his new haircut ""] I like Shotgun Justice and Open Hostility way more than the first four albums. Not to say that I don't like those albums, but they just don't hit as hard with me, the songs sound more "upbeat" for lack of a better word and have a bit more cheese than I'd like. By the time Violent Restitution came out they had gotten to be pretty much all business. For the vocals, Sheepdog had a better range, but Bob Reid definitely added a sinister edge to the band that hadn't been there before. I like 'em both but for different reasons. I also wonder what Shotgun Justice would sound like if it had the guitar tone of Open Hostility... that shit is unreal. |
