Have some of the SGU fans posting here even watched the previous Stargate shows or other sci-fi franchises? Why do so many of them sound like they just graduated from Staturday morning cartoons and daytime soap operas to the “big time” of SGU “drama”? @ “Who the hell are you people” “Do any of you realize that despite the lack of carry over viewership from previous SG series, you so-called Stargate fans, that THIS series has more viewers than many Network TV shows on, almost owning Friday night ratings?!? The fact is, SyFy doesn’t need all you unsatisfied redneck jackasses to like SGU. There are enough new viewers to sustain the show for a long time to come if they don’t screw it up by pandering to complaints from pea-brained dipshits who couldn’t sustain SGA!” HAHAHAHAHA! Why do you SGU drama queens ignore the reality of the ratings for this show? What you posted is a flat out lie, sorry. The mediocre 2.3 for the premiere episode is the highest this show has ever received. By episode 10 “Justice”, the steady fall in ratings and viewership has dropped to an even MORE mediocre 1.3% Live+7. HALF the viewership just about. In its first season…the CLIFFHANGER. Your contention that this show “owns Friday night ratings” is also preposterous. SyFy was trying to say that the “Monk” finale was the reason for the paltry numbers on its so-called “cliffhanger” episode. Why dont you know these facts? Why LIE? Many of the SGU “fans” post with the same tedious drama style that SGU is written in. Calling true Stargate fans “dipshits” and implying that we are somehow a less sophisticated group. LOL. I would LOVE to see the average educational levels of the typical SGU/BSG cross section of fans. Im certain I would not be very impressed. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Malozzi and Cooper have been told to cool their jets and stop telling Stargate fans to “not watch the show if you dont like it”. Why? Because without us, the show will tank and lots of people will lose their jobs, and money will have been wasted. They made a mistake with this show and its underperforming in the ratings. The ill-conceived half-season DVD release “in time for Christmas” was ridiculous. Without viewership, advertisers will not buy slots, and the show will be cancelled. The series has shown NO growth in viewership as a trend, and it becoming less and less popular. The second half of the first season will most likely dig the grave for this show, being shot in the same lame BSG-esque style with the same lame drama as the first 10 episodes. Season 2 will most likely be significantly changed, but the viewership lost by the end of season 1 will be too much to sustain the show for anything past season 2. Why not just watch the events play out and keep your insults to yourself. What was that you said?: “There are enough new viewers to sustain the show for a long time to come if they don’t screw it up by pandering to complaints from pea-brained dipshits who couldn’t sustain SGA!” Honestly. Viewers DID sustain SGA. In fact, the Stargate fans of the first two series is the reason there is a Stargate franchise to begin with. The producers canceled SGA because they were jealous of the “critical acclaim” that BSG was getting. They canceled Atlantis and tried to copy BSG in style, add in Lost and Big Brother and other series, and thought us “dipshits” would just gobble it up. Nope, I fear that real Stargate fans are actually SMARTER than any of the writers associated with this star tragedy.
