I'm a firm believer that you should only say on the internet what you're willing to say in person. People say what they want on the Internet and you shouldn't care. Being a tough guy in person or online doesn't make you a better person. You're equating backing up what you say on the internet to being a tough-guy. I just call it not being an asshole. It's lame that people demand they don't have to be held accountable to what they say, whether it's online or not. Especially because what Jim did and what was described here was totally different and given a separate context. You're right, people can say what they want online, but people can also stand up for themselves when untrue and overblown caricatures are written online. And before you say "he threatened to beat someone up because of the internet. laaaaaame," just remember that he didn't actually say that. What he said was that if the people on the board kept talking about punching him and he challenged them to actually do it and not hide behind a computer. |

_____________________________________ [Jul 7,2007 7:27pm - the_reverend ""] word for word: thoug I do dig pizza and all, I back the statement that this band is one of the best bands to come out of this area and I say that knowint that they are still solidifying themselves as a band. each time I see them is better than the last and they are on stage for a longer period of time. I see them becoming big like outbreak in no time. Soon they will be moving out of their first band status, especially as their set list grows. Their set started out the show with a bang. moshing almost immediately began. Jonny Limits, the singer, rolled over the PA with in the first song or so, but people pussied out on catching him. All that movement raised the temperature to an uncomfortable level already. This is going to be a rough night. especially since I saw a certain member of this board punching someone as that people was trying to help them up off the floor. |

With a band that is as catchy as this band, you would think that more people would be into it. Especially, with the people in this band. _____________________________________ [Jul 7,2007 9:27pm - the_reverend ""] cruel hand: my first time seeing them. The guitarist from outbreak was the singer.these guys are considered better than sliced bread by a lot of people. Their was killer. Reminds me of how terror's bassist proved to be a very good front man. Oh, the singer is the guy I saw jump off the PA at the ICC, but miss and land on the side of the stage only to be back up and hopping around a second later. I would be dead. hammer bros: josh hynes 2nd band. That kids going to sleep well tonight! Him and everyone that worked their asses off bringing a ruckus for hammer bros. It wasn't maximum stage diving yet, but there was tons of it. These guys are the sort of band than shouldn't be playing this hall-show, they should be on tour playing hall shows like this all across the US, Canada, and then tour the EU with madball. They even shouted out me, todd p, and all the photographers during their set. They stage banter went over some old hardcore stories/hostories that I had sort of forgotten myself. plus, they have a new CD that they are working on now. |
_____________________________________ [Jul 7,2007 9:45pm - the_reverend ""] after hammer bros was done EVERYONE had their mouths hanging open, panting from the heat. |
______________________________________ [Jul 7,2007 10:03pm - the_reverend ""] shipwreck: I only saw then once on a big stage. I think that this will go over so much better. The crowd took over the stage for the first 2 songs. Just people on top of people on top of people. good thing all the equipment was pushed back to almost the edge of the stage. The middle of their set was new songs that people didn't know, but they ended with one of the songs I remember from the various times I've seen them. I was on the other side of the stage and during the build up of their last song, the guitarist stage left was stamping so hard that it was bouncing me off the stage. after they exited the stage I realize that everyone looked like a fish gasping for air. The singer gave one good speech. Granted every stage speech he girls, he sounds like mikey from the goonies speech at the bottle of the well, but he said something like "it's easy to back someone up when what their accused of makes sense. The truest test of a friend is when it doesn't" |
______________________________________ [Jul 7,2007 10:28pm - the_reverend ""] wake up call: it seemed like a lot of people took off during their set. The audience was a little thin. I think that the drummer played guitar in cruel hand. The people that did tough it out and mosh all were up front so by the end, they were a much more sizeable set of people up there. I kept thinking about down to nothing. It's probably just the red shirt. |
