It sounded like poor man's Raymond Herrera on drums, with a pointless barrage of double bass in every section of the song. Even some of the chugging sounded like they were trying to rip off the Demanufacture riffing style or Pantera, only not even close to being as good. Coal Chamber frontman.... enough said. |

I enjoy the mechanical stop and go riffing of bands like (old) Fear Factory, and Meshuggah, but Devildriver just seemed like a poor attempt at getting Dez (I think?) some street credit in the metal scene. I don't know if all their songs are like the one I heard, but it was enough for me to not be interested in checking out the rest. |
