scream_bleed_repeat said:
all of those sound good excpet the polar ice caps. when and if the ice caps melt the water level will be the same if not lower because those ice caps are displacing water themselves right now.
not true. most of the ice caps are over greenland and or antarctica, therefore they are not displacing any water. also, its less of a question of how much water, but rather how long it is stored. water, like all life materials, runs in cycles through the bioshpere, atmosphere, and lithosphere. there are both long term and short term storage compartments for these materials. things like glacial ice, and fossil fuels are located in long term storage compartments, and the problem arises when these compartments are emptied much faster than they can be filled which is why heating with fossil fuels is wrong and why teh glacial ice caps melting would mean we're all in deep shit. boom. you just got out nerded.
