So far I have played 3 Engl products. The Savage, Powerball, and the E570 SE pre amp. I am absolutely blown away with all 3 of them. The sounds I got out of them with very very limited tweaking was nuts. Despite what some say I think the savage is a more heavy amp than the powerball (but then again I do need to play them all more before I pass judgement) *after 20 minute nose bleed??* I forgot where I was going with this. With the limited time I played both of these amps I was truely suprised, and they sounded a lot better than I anticipated. Now that pre amp... I am still trying to pick up my jaw. I got literally any sound I could dream of out of it. The thing I was blown away by was all the midi settings and functions. It has a full midi processor and it does all the things the top of the line Line 6 amps do. While that is fine and dandy and can get you decent tone here is real kicker. That shit has real tubes in it. Real tubes = real sound, not emulated like all these other digital amps. I think it is an amazing idea and the sound was just unreal. It has all kinds of banks to store your settings and so many functions I got a little lost...but thats a good thing if you ask me. Shows you are not limited. I do however need to get better at using it, and I want to play it with the midi fottswitch and see if thats difficult or user friendly. I really need to play it through an Engl Midi/tube power amp. I was playing through a QSC solid state power amp and was still amazed. If the sound can get any better I am 100% sure thi will end up in my personal rig....regardless of the price. I can't wait to get some amps in and give them a shot and see how they sound. I also want to try some of thier lower end gear too and see if it still cranks out the sound of the higher end stuff. I am really interested in thier combo amps. I want to see what them can do. Have any of you guys played the Engl combo's yet? I'll keep giving more feed back on more of the gear as it comes in and let you guys know what I think. So far I am giving the 3 products I have played a big thumbs up.
