when you say words like medium in that context, i just wanna get out a nice cheese plate, some chilled white wine, cross my legs whilst sitting (hopefully i wont crease my slacks)and converse further. :gun: movie = spoon fed. book = not spoon fed. book = your vision, your ideas, evolving from YOUR experiences relative to that of the author. no matter how bad the book, there is actually something to be learned in the purpose and process of reading. movie = a fucking diversion probobly adapted from a book, someone else's vision that is tainted and reformed by hollywood agendas, oh yeah and matt damon.
you need to see some good movies. You seem to only think of movies as encompassing hollywood and new york films. films and novels are two modes of expression which can produce things the other can not. No matter how well i could describe a setting I could probably get it across better in film. Think about some place in your city that you went to as a child frequently, don't you think it would be easier just to shoot it in film than to describe it in words. Though I do agree that books are superior, films also have their place and can be made in a way that is not mindless.
