as far as the whole immigrant thing, i will say that being an employee in a state run office, i see the good and bad side of immigration. while there are (and have been in the past) so many immigrants who work hard and help out the country, there are just as many (if not more) who 1. are here illegally 2. don't speak english 3. don't work, or work under the table 4. contribute more to crime rates than anything else 5. collect welfare/free healthcare/food stamps etc. (usually 2 or more of the above) which is pretty fucked up when there are plenty of american born citizens, and legal immigrants who do so much and get so little in return
I agree with you sir, and i do believe that measures should be taken to remove illegals who take part in this sort of behavior. But i also believe that there should be a better system in place for people who want to do the right thing to come here. Anyone ever heard of Svalbard? Its a little archipelago north of norway. Technically its part of norway, half way between norways main land mass and the north pole. They have the BEST god damn rule regarding immigration. Not that i think it would work with anywhere having a population of more than 5000, but alas: The government of Svalbard can, at any time, kick you off the islands if you show that you cannot support yourself, or if you are to much of a burden on the government. Great rule, although they do let almost anyone TRY to live there if they want to. You have to get a visa just like to most countries, but there is a coalition of something like 20countries that technically own the right to live there/mine coal there. (coal is svalbards main export.)
i definately agree with that dude! i actually read a rant from an Austrailian political leader, that i wish America step up and follow the same principles. [ Prime Minister John Howard - Australia ] Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: ; 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS , MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians, as we have never seen before. ' 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. ' 'We speak mainly ENGLISH . not Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become pa rt of our society, then you have no choice but to learn 'our' language!' 'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christ ian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. ' 'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. ' 'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are finished complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom .. THE RIGHT TO LEAVE. ' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. ' Maybe if we circulate this amongst ou rselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
