I like Shotgun Justice and Open Hostility way more than the first four albums. Not to say that I don't like those albums, but they just don't hit as hard with me, the songs sound more "upbeat" for lack of a better word and have a bit more cheese than I'd like. By the time Violent Restitution came out they had gotten to be pretty much all business. For the vocals, Sheepdog had a better range, but Bob Reid definitely added a sinister edge to the band that hadn't been there before. I like 'em both but for different reasons. I also wonder what Shotgun Justice would sound like if it had the guitar tone of Open Hostility... that shit is unreal.
