I have the "Crimson Terrible Vision" album on my iPod. It's good, but not skip out on all my bills and not eat for a month good. Everything I've heard since that record is much less good. And the drawing power is most definitely not there. Also, there are two bands that have even less draw as part of the package, additional costs that will not yield additional turnout. Local bands of note can bring in a crowd because they have actually built up something for themselves locally (they also have the advantage of being from the area and can invite their friends). Anyone who has done any touring knows you will draw many more people your second time playing a given place. Same thing with locals who don't overplay and always put on a good show when they do play out. People start to pick up on it. As much as we all love underground metal, the sad reality is that its underground for a reason. Not many people are into it. Thats all well and good until you need to actually cover some costs. Sometimes you can get away with it by stacking shows with bands you know will draw, to off-set great touring bands who can't get the numbers out on their own. The booking group I am apart of does that fairly often. But that's not an option in this case, no locals allowed. This is the kindve touring package that requires a superfan to swallow a $1,000 and deal with a bunchve headaches for it to happen. The other two shows they still have booked will lose money, guaranteed. And yes, you are an exception if you'd throw down $20 for an international band that is unknown to you. Its hard enough getting $10 out of people for known underground touring bands. On the whole people suck and don't really care. Its a sad truth anyone who's been booking shows for awhile knows.
